Hi,
I'm new to the forums although I've been registered with the site for a while. My name is Rick and I am ex-RAF, having served from early 1983 to late 1990. My stations included RAF Swinderby, RAF Cosford, RAF Locking, RAF West Raynham (where I spent the large proportion of my service), RAF Staxton Wold and RAF Bishops Court.
Such a shame that many of our once prestigious airfields are being lost and along with them the associated histories of forgotten people and past times. The closeness of the communities that lived and worked on those airfields was incredible and I was lucky enough to have experienced that, perhaps on a scale that will never be seen again.
Anyway, I look forward to stopping by and seeing what's going on around the place.
