Would like to announce his arrival on the board.

From the username you may deduce that I have some background in ASMT & aircraft refuelling operations, these deductions would be quite correct :D

I was going to use the name "plop jockey" after the more unpleasent duty of driving the boggy truck, but I far prefer the smell of Avtur

Welcome to the forum.
Maybe you call help with a question I raised some time ago about static during refueling operations and the possible use of brass to prevent static ignitions?

Lots of brass used throughout bowsers as you don't get a friction spark off brass, the way we stop static discharges is to bond to the recieving vessel (aircraft or other tanker) via a bonding cable & grounding the tanker through earth strips that are in permanent contact with the ground.

Avtur can build up a respectable static charge, especialy when its moved, we pretty much banned toploading a bowser- ie just pouring fuel in through the lid as that really does present a static hazard, there are some exceptions, for instance recirclating fuel from an open line, that is ok as you are in effect refuelling yourself.

Got loads of bowser pics in the unlikely event anyone is interested.

There is a good airfield vehicles thread so the answer will be yes to posting bowser pics.
