Word is that public evacuated from Duxford this afternoon following discovery of a UXB adjacent to the north T2 hangar.

Hardly suprising given its history. My grandfather lived in sheltered accomodation on the boundary of Hornchurch in the 70's and barely a week went by when one was not found in the gravel workings. By the way with the initials JCB are you quite sure you had nothing to do with it?

Was supposed to be exploded at 09.30 hrs this morning. Have not heard if Duxford has yet been sighted in orbit.

Word is that the device was identified by EOD as an inert 10lb practice bomb. They tucked it under their arm and took it off site for disposal elsewhere. Museum and all facilities open as normal today.
