Aktinson Field (now Timehri Airport), near Georgetown, Guyana (formerly British Guiana).

Atkinson was a major US Base and stopover point for transshipment of airplanes to the European and China/Burma/India Theatres of Operations along the southern route. Typically, the planes would fly:

Morrison Field, West Palm Beach Florida to Borinquen Field, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico (980 miles)
Borinquen to Atkinson Field, British Guiana (1130 miles)
Atkinson to Belem, Brazil (900 miles)
Belem to Natal, Brazil (950 miles)
Natal to Ascension Island (1450 miles)
Ascension to Roberts Field, Monrovia, Liberia (1020)

Aircraft going on to England would then fly to Dakar, Sengal (780 miles), Marrakesh (1350 miles) and hence to England (1500 miles)

Below is a photo of the field now. I rotated it so that it has the same general orientation as the period photo above. The highlights (and key below) are from A Guyana-based blogger.
