I vaguely remember a couple of photos on the forum of a memorial propellor / plaque to a Stirling aircraft, EF208. I think from memory it was based at Winthorpe.

Does anyone know where the memorial is (assuming my memory is correct here!) and also any more info about the crash?

Cheers

You mean this one?
I don't know how to do that linky thing, but the memorial is on grass just to the west of the NAM entrance

Not that one Ossington! It was quite a simple memorial, from memory it was a wall mounted propellor and plaque and it was actually to the Stirling.

Ooops! I shouldn't rush! The picture above is EAST of the entrance. It contains a prop hub from EF208, crashed at Breeder Hills near Grantham, 4/12/44, but I now realise is not what you are after anyway!
Stirling EF208, however, was also a 1661 HCU machine (after service with 622 sqn)
"Unable to maintain height on two engines; force-landed at Wiggenhall St. Peter, Norfolk 9/12/44"
From "The Stirling File." Sorry I can't add to that Richard.

No, its me. I've had a hard day at the treacle mines. The memorial at NAM is for EF186. Sorry again
