This place can be found just outside of Market Deeping off the A16, it was originally a WW2 radar site, but was redeveloped as part of the Rotor program during the 50s.

The site was sold off to its present owners in the 60s and is currently used as a scrapyard of sorts.

Of the original site, the old brick control room from the WW2 era remains, along with a few huts in the field behind that were part of the radar site. Of the Rotor era buildings, the old RAF Guard house is currently used a dwelling, which is occupied by the family who own the site. Also standing is the old 2 story bunker, which was an unusual design for this part of the country, as its built on the suirface and not sunken into the ground (problems with the water table it seems).

Internally the bunker has been stripped and is currently being used as storage, so there's not much left to see inside.

The site is very much private property, fortunately the owner shares our interest in military history and so I managed to secure permission to take a few close up pics.

The guard house.

The Bunker (the entrance in the front has been knocked through to allow vehicle access).

These huts can be found in the field behind (any ideas).

Good find Simon, however slightly annoyed that you got there first, i've had permission for about a year now but never got round to it.

Did you visit the decoy airfield and ROC near Maxey?

Well done once again mate, so now I must get my act together and get over there.

I did indeed visit the nearby ROC post, seems to be in quite good nick too.

I would say, the best ROC i've been down, even better than Wellingore.
