An update on Worcester from a report from the Worcester City Historic Environment Record.
Extract:
"Built early in WW2 and connected with oil pipeline that ran (and still does) between Liverpool and Avonmouth. Pipeline follows R. Severn but skirts E of Worcester. Depot also had a pipline to the R. Severn to connect with barges".
The report also goes on to state that the facility was not connected to the National Pipeline as originally built but was connected later.
Apart from the six tanks there was also a standard decontamination block.
