So when did it close? There were a lot of sites like this in my time in the RAF, Greatworth, Milltown, Aird Uig etc.
Remember driving past the site many years ago when I was working locally
It's HERE (http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm?lat=51.84757654864796&lon=-0.5832302570343018&gz=17&oz=8>=1). Was it also called Dagnall ?

I drove past today with Noel 'NJR' - would have stopped but they were doing roadworks on the roundabout and the traffic control was questionable - it seemed a bit chaotic so we gave it a miss.
This gives a brief description of it in the 50s

The things you find out! I had heard of the crystal bank (but it was before my time), and of course Barkway still exists as an airways beacon.
Hi all - I took those pictures.
If anyone has any further info on this site please pass it on as I can't find anything at all about it anywhere. My guess would be it closed about 5 or 6 years ago.
Hi all - I took those pictures.
Welcome to AiX els.
Re 'those pictures' - did you use a 16mm lens for some of the internal shots ?
