Hi All:

This Memorial is at Agecroft Cemetery on Langley Road, Pendleton Salford. The Memorial is just past the main entrance, you will see the shelter with the Memorial to the left of it as soon as you go through the main entrance.

A book was written about this crash "The Salford Lancaster" by Joe Bamford, his grandmother was one of the two civilians killed in the crash.

The Lancaster was attempting a crash landing on Littleton Rd playing fields (quite close to Langley Rd) with 9,000lbs of bombs on board from an aborted raid over France. One of the crew members only lived two miles away from the scene of the crash.
