View Full Version : Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire
Until to-day I thought the back of a packet of crisps was only any use for checking E numbers and fat content. I wouldn’t go so far as to say the company was boring but I took to reading the biography on this one. I attach a photo of the (empty!) crisp packet.
Is the memorial mentioned the one pictured on the following site?
This is the one
Visited this memorial on Saturday 30th August 2008, and very fine it is too.
The memorial site is south of Farnsfield and is well signed. A road in the village itself is named after the pilot, there is a plaque nearby to this effect.
The road named after the pilot.
The memorial location is well signed.
Great photos Noel, a memorial I'd like to see (as you know!) and I'm glad you found it ok. Wasn't there something in the church as well?
I haven't visited this place since inauguration day. Good to see the trees growing. This snap is from 06/94. SK 120 644556 SW of Farnsfield but well posted.
Look for a white speck in the field by the bend.
From July 94
A few different images of the memorials and info at this site during a visit last year. Apologies if the text in the latter two images is too small to read
