Hello everyone.

Just joined this forum, been browsing as a guest for a while but thought it was about time to stop hiding!

About me - I live in Church Fenton, North Yorkshire, in one of the ex-Airmen's Married Quarters at RAF Church Fenton. Having lived in the area all my life, I've long had an interest in RAF Church Fenton. So much so that 9 years ago I started my own website on the place - www.rafchurchfenton.org.uk (http://www.rafchurchfenton.org.uk). It's been slowly growing ever since, so that I hope by now it's become a useful resource for anyone interested in the base.

Anyway, that's enough about me for now, look forward to reading the forums with interest.

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian and welcome aboard, as it were.

CF holds a bit of soft spot for me as I went to the last public air show there at the back end of the 80's. I've had a look at your excellent web site - very professional with some great history. Nice one! Hope you can share some of your knowledge on our modest forum!

Hope to see you around here soon - regards,

Chris

Hi,

Firstly, sorry for not replying sooner, been away from my computer since Wednesday. Glad you enjoyed my site, would be happy to (try to!) answer any CF related questions anyone may have.

I used to love the air displays at CF when I was growing up, I just wish I'd had more of an interest in aviation (and CF in particular) when it was still a fully-open RAF station. I would have been 12 at the time of the last display in 1994, so although I liked seeing the aircraft I was perhaps a bit too young to properly appreciate everything.
Still remember watching the Vulcan display from outside the fence at the 1992 display - clear blue skies - fantastic. I'm going to Waddington tomorrow so as long as the weather plays ball I'll hopefully be able to see it again for the first time in 16 years.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome, look forward to posting on here again soon,

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian,

Welcome to AIX

I believe we've been in contact before, when I built Church Fenton for Flight Simulator 2004 a few years ago.

Stevo ;)

Hi Stevo,

Yes I think we've been in contact before, cracking bit of scenery you made for Church Fenton.
Still haven't managed to get the AI Tucanos working with it though!

Cheers

Ian
