Any info on this derelict radio station?

Canmore Link (http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/157903/details/costa+hill+ernie+tower/) Location (http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=59.147509&lon=-3.204308&z=17.3&r=0&src=msl)

One website suggested there was a derelict experimental wind generator in the area

Another website mentioned Finally a "Christmas Tree" mast 36 m high was erected on Costa Hill, ...

I can't find anything about its function, date etc.

The RCAHMS aerial photo site also has wartime coverage (from memory). I was also looking for signs of the air to groung firing range at Costa Hill which, presumably were not on the hill top!

PNK, Carnaby has linked the CANMORE images:)

I too was looking at the range area when I saw the subject site.

I have been interested in this since I noticed the buildings on the top of the hill on the way from Crustan. I added this note to Canmore

The hill was used in the 1950s for an experimental wind turbine and a stone building is mentioned so perhaps no radar there.

A 1942 aerial image seems to show an octagonal building that casts a shadow and possibly had something on top. This could fit with there being a RAF DF site there.
