There is also a memorial stone close-by that is dedicated to the RAF. Can't find the photographs right now. Regards the B17 Sweet and Lovely I have a book called Castles in the Air by Martin W. Bowman that has this B17 on the front cover, well the nose section only. I bought this book in 1985. At a Duxford airshow in 1993 I bought another book by Matin W. Bowman called Four Miles High. This second book [different cover] is almost identical to the first one, what a rip-off that was at 20.00. eighteen years ago !!

The top rooms of the old church were used as a canteen by the USAAF during their stay at Ridgewell airfield.

Cheers Bomber, a certain REF mentioned to me that there is still more to do in Essex regards memorials. Spring/early summer may be a good time to visit, perhaps we could arrange to meet-up then. 8-)

I think the museum is open every 2nd Sunday of each month so if you are there on Sunday and you can't find it the people there will know.
