Good find Peter. I often feel that Skitten was an airfield that got forgotten. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Thrumster,+Wick,+Highland+KW1,+United+Kingd om&hl=en&ll=58.489657,-3.167067&spn=0.034542,0.132093&sll=51.238817,-2.565714&sspn=0.020689,0.066047&vpsrc=6&geocode=FYL0egMd4THQ_w&t=h&z=14&layer=c&cbll=58.49002,-3.167659&panoid=5XmMamw-W2hWYT1tLWLDXw&cbp=12,53.1,,0,12.11

Of course, I was looking for something else and saw the legend 'Meml' so took a look. We tend to miss a lot of the airfields north of the border and I hope that our AiX members resident in Scotland will contribute more.

I happened to come across this and when I checked Canmore found they had added a record for me but I had not posted my pictures there so corrected that now.

Thank you Martin, you are filling in a lot of the gaps in the collective AiX knowledge of 'over the border' history. It is clear that Scotland and the Islands have plenty of military remains un-encroached (as yet) by developers and would love to be a retired single man in a 4 x 4.
