I've just seen in the February 2012 [a sixth gone of the new year that hasn't yet started] Aeroplane magazine a photograph of a SGW* and plaque to a WW1 Pilot. This is within Uplyme church, near to Lyme Regis. Anyone know of this, or able to get some photographs ? It's a brass plaque so no-doubt difficult to photograph ? *SGW = Stained Glass Window.
You might like to try www.uplymechurch.org.uk/ which gives several contact names. Failing this www.uplyme.com is a village forum covering many local topics including Church subjects. It also contains an interesting debate about a mysterious WW2 aircrash in the vicinity on page four of the community forum. Worth a look maybe? Regards......Paul

That's the Beatbox Vicar's church! His Beatbox nativity won ITN's Nativity Factor competition just before Christmas.
As regards the plaque why don't you try emailing the church office to see if they can sort a photo for you. There's contact details and an email link on their website.

Many thanks chaps for those two links. Worth looking at, as and when I get the time I'll go down there for a look. Also photograph the memorial in Lyme Regis as shown by REF in the Dorset thread.
