View Full Version : Bonsieur from Bomber County
Hi there,
first of all, I'm not french, but could not think of another word that starts with "B" for my topic heading!! :D
I am originally from the south of england, & was involved with Tangmere aviation museum, by way of membership, & donating the odd piece of aviation memorabilia.
Moved to lovely lincolnshire about 3 years ago, on a whim, & must admit, I do not regret it.
It is great to see, in the flesh, these airfields that I could only read about, when I was a lad.
My current favourite is wickenby, & I do nip over there when work permits me to have a day off
Like to watch the current users doing their thing, & also to mooch around the old buildings that remain, & try to imagine what it must have been like to be there in its heyday.
Very sobering when you see on the memorial, that from that airfield alone, 1080 brave souls left, & never came back...
Anyway, looking forward to reading, & contributing to this forum.
TTFN,
Andy. :D :D :D

Welcoome to the forum. As you said it looks like a good little forum - we aim to make it one!
Feel free to post as many questions up, there are loads of knowledgeable folks that have already registered, a number of which are from Bomber County!
Enjoy yourself here and we all look forward to your input

Hello to you too, Richard :D
In reply to Binbrook, I am in Lincoln, so pretty central for most used, & in use airfields.
Is there a photo section, as I have some pics of Wickenby I would like to post :?:
How do I go about adding a small pic to my postings :?:
Look forward to your reply(s)

The small pic next to our user names is called an "Avtar" and if you go onto your profile you should be able to upload one, 80 x 80 pixels is the size limit on those pictures though.
As for posting pictures, as long as they are in the relevant forum for the aifield, just start a new thread and post them up! You will see I have just put some up in our East Anglia forum for Hardwick airfield.
Look forward to seeing some photos from you
Richard
