I visited Changi last year - wife was born in Changi Hospital and we wandered down Netheravon Road past the old place. Visited the museum at Changi Prison as well.
Kranji cemetery was visited as well.
Singapore may be a strict place to live (fines for everything but breathing almost) but a safer cleaner city I have not seen before.

Changi with the duel carriegeway / Wartime third runway?
The dual carriageway to/from the airport is designed to be used as a emergency runway. The chauffeur that collected us from the airport pointed it out as we drove away. There are large square 'planters' running the length of the central divide which can be moved in times of need to produce another runway for the RSAF.
