Thanks Richard . I also sent a copy of the photos to Ted Angus for his comments on the bowser and donkey engine and he noted ;
"The bowser is a 900gal by Butterfields, they were mounted on both the Eagle 5 ton & Brockhouse Mk2 5ton chassis, I would say circa late 1940 onwards. The second item appears to be an adaption of a Low Pressure Pneumatic Servicing Trolley MK1 , 1A or 1B . LPPST we called them. They were used to power air tools , spray guns etc. They were fitted with a Petters twin engine with its cylinders in- line on the crankshaft, however this one has a V engine. It looks very much like the Coventry Victor 2 cylinder engine that was fitted to the MK 2 series of hydraulic serving trolleys. The LPPST was a well worn piece of kit when I joined in 64, when I took over GEF at Leuchars in 1990 there were still a handful in use in case the ring mains air system went unserviceable in the Aircraft servicing hangars ."
Thanks again Ted .
I actually turned up at YAM on Saturday morning to attend a British Aviation Archaeology Council meeting only to find that we had been locked out and the museum closed due to snow ! Fortunately 'Jason the cook' turned up , let us in and saved the day . I managed to take a few photos before there were too many footprints in the snow although I think the smaller footprints are actually deer hoof-prints !
Very nice shots from David.

As you worked out the concrete was the Romney's base, and has now gone. As far as I know it is to be re-erected in 2 parts roughly where the Javelin is now. Where the Romney was, on the old taxiway, has now been freshly tarmacked.
An AEC Matador bowser has also arrived for restoration.
Nice shots of Elvers there. Certainly not like that in the early 80's!
Nice seeing an old ident light, I used to switch 'it' on in my youth. But that is for the Lossiemouth bit!
Just realised that the poster (Post 73, Image 23) explaining the CADF workings has a spelling error.
