There are quite a few nice murals on the walls in the Seething Huts. Usually access is no problem and they are fading fast. There are also some 'missions' painted onto the wall in one of the huts used by the B24 crews....again, fading but worth a see afor they go for good. Check out the tower museum when it is open; access is usually via Pat Everson in Seething village or on open days.
Was it common for the aerodrome ID to be raised an lit like that? I have only seen white painted concrete.
How about the Machine Gun on the roof, Never seen that before !!!
Must be for discipline purposes as it would have been a bit risky in the event of an attack.
The airfield ID is lit at night, that is why its raised
Was it normal to light up Ident letters at night, especially with intruder activity a possibility?
