Knackered?![]()
Walked around this area many times in the past and always wandered about these concrete structures, link below:

They appear to be blast walls of some type and seem to form a "compound", anyone know anything about this former range, layout etc. I've also heard reference to the existence of a landing strip in WW2, can anyone pinpoint the location of this?
Interestingly on the beach at this location:

A surviving target can still be found!
Someone once told me what type the tank was but I've forgotten.

A T-34 maybe? Not that I know much about tanks.
It appears to be either an A27M Cromwell or an A27L Centaur.
The Cromwell had a Meteor engine, and the Centaur a Liberty engine.

I was told Cromwell, knew I'd remember if I saw the name, cheers.
And of course the Metoer engine was the Merlin derated to only 600 HP, and yes someone did put one in a car!!!
I would have said Ruston Bucyrus!
Here is an extract from the sale plan for the range HQ building, which closed for tenders on 28 July 1988.
Pic also posted on 200 yard range thread.
Just a couple or so of pictures for this site.
Dispersed site with accommodation block and then the road way down to the range.
Please enjoy,
