Many thanks to all at the Waddington Heritage Centre, 8 Sqn and RAF Waddington for hosting a group from ARG on May 15 2012. A very interesting and diverse look around the station.

Is it me, or is Waddo just plain greedy with the number of Towers they have, or what?
Nice to see pics of 8 Sqdn, my first tour as a LAC in 1974. 8 Sqdn Ops Clerk.

The picture is a 44sqd Lanc tacken around late 1941or early 1942 .This picture appears in the first book Lancaster At War by Brian Goulding & Mike Garbett 1971.

To say that the weather was spectacular over Waddo today would be an understatement. It was like Armaggedon had visited Lincolnshire at times. The most dramatic skies i've ever seen, black angry looking clouds like those in Close Encounters, thunder and lightning bolts everywhere either directly overhead or pretty much constantly in the dark distance, flash floods....and lovely warm sunshine and blue skies!!!!!! Oh! and the aircraft were pretty good as well. To knackered to go through my pics but here's one that sort of sets the tone of the day -
Cheers
Steve
