ahh ok thanks for that.

Rich: The AWOC is the Alternate War Operations Centre but I'm not sure what a NUBS is. Can any of the locals confirm?
Also, is the AWOC the now rather decrepit looking hardened building which is quite close to the BBMF hangar?
ahh ok thanks for that.
thanks rich
The WOC is still in use and as pleasant to be in as ever!
That's nice to know. Dare I ask what for? Is my old ADR cell still there? It was like being in a zombie movie working in there just after a simulated air raid - there would be pressurised senior officers lined up against the window moaning because we hadn't 'repaired' the airfield yet. Then ATC would phone, complaining that our Sultan recce vehicles were getting in the way of their Tornados.
Dunno about the ADR cell, do they even exist any more? I'd guess that all the functions therein are as you'd remember. As you mention Tacevals, I reckon it'd be quite a bit updated as well!! Last one I did was around 94 I reckon!
I think mine was 94 or 95. I'd not been out of the regular army for long and it was my first experience of the RAF on exercise. Very enlightening.
