Membury

Hello,
I will be visiting the UK from the US in April and would like to visit RAF Membury (or the remains thereof). I'd like to get out onto the intersection of the remaining runways... any thoughts on how I can accomplish this? Whom should I ask for permission? It appears (on Google Earth) that there is modern hangar and light aircraft near the point I would like to access. Anyone know what organization this is?

I know that Aviation Enterprises are based there, their website is; http://www.aviationenterprises.co.uk/

There is a memorial on the eastbound M4 services and I think you can access part of the airfield from there, or you could when I last visited.

I'm reading Green Light! A Troop Carrier Squadron's War from Normandy to the Rhine (Wolfe, Martin. Center for Air Force History, 1993). The author mentions a pub right at the edge of RAF Membury called the Hare & Hounds.

Is this pub still there? If not, is the building still there? The closest thing I can find on the internet with that name is a hotel in Newbury.

Having done a quick search it seems the 'Hare and Hounds' pub post war became the 'Hare & Hounds Hotel' then 'The Hare Restaurant' which is the current name and function.

I took this photograph sometime around 1986/7 but exactly where we don't know ? Though one suggestion was Ramsbury. How i know the year is because thats my mk 4 Cortina in the background. and i changed this in 1987 early 88.
