    I don't know what the tubular thing is Raptor, but you have gathered up some broken pieces of plough blade there, not B26! The tips of plough blades are a not uncommon sight on these old airfields due to all those lumps of concrete in the ground.

    Just to let you know that particular Nissen is built on what is left of a loop hardstand and was put up by the peoplewho own the bungalow built on the other bit of the hardstand.
    The hoops and cladding may have come from elsewhere on the airfield though.

    Raptor,
    The chap made the interior of the blister hangar (free gunnery trainer building) and the remaining adjacent crew locker room and the Gas Clothing and Respirator store available to us to photograph last year. I'm not 100% certain that it is the same bloke who owns the Admin site. As for the remaining runway threshold, the track is owned by David Parson of Stock Hall and the actual runway bit is under ownership of Michael Scantlebury.

    Back into me hole I go.....
    Denis who owns the Blister Hangar, Crew Locker Room and Gas Clothing and Respirator Store please.

    Anybody got any idea what these are?. I picked them up off the Main Runway.

    Markings on one of the above objects.
    Coming from a farming back ground it looks to me like a plough-shar, the bit that's got YL57 on...!

    Members of this forum will be interested to know that the new planning application on the operations site at Matching, which would have involved the demolition of the ops block but the retention of the Norden store, has been refused for the following reasons;

    1. The proposed development would result in the loss of historically significant locally listed buildings. No justification has been provided for the removal of these designated heritage assets and as such the proposal is contrary to the guidance contained within the National Planning Policy Framework and policies CP2 and HC13 of the adopted Local Plan and Alterations.

    2. The proposal is an unsustainable development within a location not well served by public transport or local services. As such the development would result in reliance on private vehicle commuting and be contrary to the guidance contained within the National Planning Policy Framework and policies CP1 and ST1 of the adopted Local Plan and Alterations.
