My father was Flt/Sgt i/c University Air Squadron at Abingdon from 1936 to 1939.
Can anyone point me towards a source of pictures of this aerodrome in this period.
I recall several crashes of this time. One involved an Avro Tutor landing on its wingtip, another of a Blenheim crashing in flames, and I believe a Whitley which crashed on landing. Again, are these recorded oficially?
Google 'Imperial War Museum' website. Look at their Collections link and type in Abingdon. I'm pretty sure they have some relevant photographs.
There is a problem with the site today from my location so I can't post an active link.
