Interior of a newly discovered (today!) and previously unknown Stanton shelter on Site 2. Original inner door or just a replacement?
You would be most welcome Chris, but leave it until the winter, most of the decent stuff to see is under tons of vegetation now!

Blimey that's clean. I bet you were chuffed.
We were Peter, even more chuffed with the Brylcreem jar and the 1940's McMullens Of Hertford beer bottle, complete with the old style twist stopper, and found under a nearby hedgerow

My only hedgerow find was near Detling in 1970 or 71 and it was someones discarded hoard of "adult magazines"!
They should bring back the twist stopper, great for people like me who struggle to finish a single bottle of beer. You used to be able to buy replacement washers as well.
McMullens of Hertford, that brings back memories, our local in St Albans was one of their pubs.

I had a go at trying to merge an image of the type of watch office that would have been at Hunsdon (image courtesy of NP) back into the location the original stood. At least it gives me an idea of how it would have looked!

Is that a composite image of Hunsdon's CT or of a similar one withe Hunsdon bits added?
