There are 9 pages of photos, the Cornish period appears to be mainly on page 4. The only two I would definitely say are Davidstow are PL41005 and PL41047. The sequence of the Beaufighter being armed could also be Davidstow.

"Beaufighter at War" by Bowyer gives the following photos as taken at Davidstow.

PL41036 with Sgt Herb Cossaboom on 21/8/44
    PL41048 and 41049 with Beaufighter NE3455 EE-H on 21/8/44
PL30038 crew group including Lt SB Rossiter USAAF in front of Handcraft hut (plenty of those left on site) 10/6/44
PL41039 crew looking at aircraft damage 21//8/44
    PL41054 Crew at Debrief 21/8/44
PL41044 Wing Commander Ken Gatward DSO, DFC following his ultimate op with 404 sqdn 21/8/44

Source for the photos is given as Public Archives of Canada

I think that the numerical sequence of identified Davidstow photos (as above) suggests they were taken in at least two groups during June and August 1944 and that other so far unidentified photos (mainly crew) can also be tied to 404's time there.

I'm also certain PL29826, Pl29829, PL41050, PL41051, PL29824, PL29825, PL29827 and PL29828 are all Cornwall. Quite what that means for your numerical sequences John I'm not sure!!

I was lucky to see this Merlin, ZR340, at Davidstow Moor today (26 July 2012). The Merlin is destined for India so was presumably on test from Yeovil.

I went to the War MAchines weekend today, PLeasant event on part of the old airfield. I went on the airfield tour and it was EXCELLENT. Really good detailed look at the history. They normally do the tours on thursdays. Went for a road run and will try to attach pics.

The first shot is superb - I was at DSM today as well - were you on the tour mid afternoon ? As I was in the Tower when one of the tours was in progress.

I was in the Watch Tower yesterday (28 July 2012) when this scene appeared -

I was somewhat surprised when I vacated the tower to be met be a Luftwaffe Officer on his way in - didn't get a shot unfortunately !

I was on the open topped jeep. Managed to blag a ride in it on the road run. Never been in one before. Out over the moorland road and we were on the return leg . Keep it quiet though as I'm a Land Rover man. Good weekend. I was pleased with the shot. sky was quite moody on a nice evening. Spent the evening with a mixed bunch from many eras around the log stove warming up.
