Looks like an a/c taking off from the 36 runway - bottom left corner. You can see both it and its shadow.

Here's a few pics from a recent visit with REF. It was getting a bit late and the light was fading fast -

Nice set of pictures Steve, i see you visited the Bloodhound site too. This has to be one of the best preserved sites around, i'm unsure whether or not it's listed?

    Hi
Great pictures . Do you know where the hard standing is where the B17 crashed into the fuel bowser?

Apparently a wwii machine gun was found in a pond here whilst it was being dredged. The "eighth in the east" project are looking at using it as prop in schools to teach wwii history.

Thought it was about time I posted some of the pics I took at Rattlesden back at the end of September. There is quite a bit left here, so please excuse the number of photos!

First up, Tech Site 2 at the North West of the airfield. I believe the hut is Building 94 Maintenance Unit.

Next, the 447th Bomb Group memorial. This is where I had intended to start, but got a bit lost in the lanes!

Main Tech Site Building 11 Fire Tender House

Building 14 Works Mechanical Plant Garage. Missed this in September, so nipped back when I was in the area at the end of November!

OK, back to September now. Track opposite Fire Tender House

This is on the right of the track, as you head towards the tower, just before it opens out onto the main airfield. It may be Building 35 Bomb Sight Store
