Oh yes they can. I am ashamed to say that some idiot made a typo on the application for the domain name and it is that which is misspelt.

It says ',... discovers a secret World War II chemical weapons plant at Rhydmwyn...'

Excellent prog. Pity it wasn't all about Reeder-mowen. (I have always wondered how it's pronounced. Beats my Ree-hid-merwhin, up till now)

The locals will be even more impressed if you add the 'H' - Hreeder-mowen.

    I hope I'm right .

Last time that I went through, the locals that I spoke to seemed to have English accents.

Colin will comment I'm sure but I pronounce it Rhid Derm Wen but the first utterance is with the tongue on the back of the top teeth and exhaled!

I did not see the program when it was broadcast as I was travelling to Brymbo to give a talk. I arrived about 7:15 pm,15 minutes after the program finished and as I passed the TV in the lounge there were a number of comments about how much my hair had grown in the last quarter of an hour!
I gave the talk and during a chat afterwards a local Welsh speaker informed me that I had pronounced Rhydymwyn 13 different ways, so who am I to advise? I'm still trying to work who that old guy who looks a bit like me was, and he was wearing my pullover.

In a North Wales shop a while ago I overheard the two assistants talking in high speed fluent Welsh. Two phrases which stood out were, 'a quarter to three' and 'Welsh cakes'. I queried the latter and was told there wasn't a Welsh equivalent for it .
