It certainly is Lydd, sadly no Daks anymore but looks the same today. Strange airfield, in the middle of nowhere, never seen anything of interest there, good cafe though.
I am pretty certain this was taken at Lydd Airport in 1975. There were always DC3s there.
Note: This is not the same location as the wartime ALG.

I assume it is built on the shingle that covers most of the area. From the air you can see strange lines which I assume are the shingle layers built up over the centuries. Still when it rains the ground doesn't get wet as it is horizontal![]()

The Dakotas seen at Lydd/Ferryfield airport belonged to a company called Air Freight Ltd. The survived at Lydd until around 1980ish when several were taken on board by Air Atlantique. Good news about the expansion of the airport being approved. I hope to see domestic flights from Lydd soon.
