    Default Whitley Memorial. France.

This appears to be the only photograph I have of this memorial. These last two were sent to me by a different contact. Reading from the reverse of this photograph it say's:- 49680 Vivy, France. North of Saumur. 19-2-43. BD-538 Whitley V 295 Sqdn After a raid on Distre Electricity transformer station south of Saumur shot down by AA fire. The crew were:- W/cdr PMV Lysaght. F/O JHC McIlwrick. Sgt/s IW Arnold and JES Basseville RCAF. Not listed is J Bailey who as the rear gunner survived as a POW. Propeller made from black slate. Anyone know any more?

I live not too far from Vivy, happy to nip over there and find the memorial and more info if it's available?
