Yes the memorial is on the site of the beautiful Art Deco Supermarine office block, that once stood on that site. Of all the local authoritys to have complete disregard for their wartime heritage, Southampton beats the lot. Remember Eastleigh, Woolston plus all its sub-sites along the river and Tichfield - all raised to the ground without any recording.
