Inside the base Exchange, this looks to have been spared the 'locals' attention.
The Chip shop has been given a facelift and is now open again
An apt name for the handryer in the All Ranks Club.
Came across this when looking for something else, planning perrmission for demolition of buildings at Sculthorpe
An attached document lists 40 buildings with (small) photos
There's been so much gloom about the demise of Sculthorpe's buildings recently, here's a pic of happier times (30 yrs ago this summer).
My god, doesn't time fly when you've had fun!
Wow great photo superplum, I did not know Jaguars were at Sculthorpe.
Thanks for sharing such a brilliant picture Superplum, i read about Coltishalls short deployment to Sculthorpe nice to see the photographic evidence.
This was the base main standby generator that was installed in 1970 after the base was reopened by the USAF in 1969.
It was started automaticaly by means of compressed air in the event of a mains failure.I was present at the first start up
and this was followed by a BBQ in celebration!!!!!!.I worked on the base from 1969/1976 maintaining all the non tactical radio
systems ie fire crash/security etc.
