Wow great photo superplum, I did not know Jaguars were at Sculthorpe.
Thanks for sharing such a brilliant picture Superplum, i read about Coltishalls short deployment to Sculthorpe nice to see the photographic evidence.
This was the base main standby generator that was installed in 1970 after the base was reopened by the USAF in 1969.
It was started automaticaly by means of compressed air in the event of a mains failure.I was present at the first start up
and this was followed by a BBQ in celebration!!!!!!.I worked on the base from 1969/1976 maintaining all the non tactical radio
systems ie fire crash/security etc.
Myself Jason and Bomber spent a very enjoyable few hours yesterday looking over Sculthorpe. Shame to see the state the barrack blocks have now become but great to explore never the less -
