Back in the late 50's, early 60's the RAF had a caravan site at methwold for the RAF and USAF.

The airfield was reported to be haunted by returning WWII aircraft.!!

I shall speak to my paraent who were stationed there for teh full stories

Is this the building at TL 7239 9229? Do you know its current condition and whether there are any internal features of interest?

Joneshines, these are the group of buildings located at TL 7239 9229, I think it was an accomodation / living site but I don't have my site plan to hand so can't confirm. Photos taken on 15 February 2009.

Thanks, Richard. It's clearly not the gym/chapel, which I thought I'd spotted on Google earth. I'll have to keep on looking!

RE Methwold I was stationed at Feltwell in 1950 and did Air crash duties at Methwold the Control tower
was a wreck then the only thing that worked was the telephone.We took a runway controller caravan
out each day Rover
