I wonder if that's the shortest distance between two airfields' WWII bomb stores: 1180 yards from the southernmost part of the store at Cammeringham to the northernmost at Scampton.

Went for a stroll around Ingham today, found all this and more in an area close by the flying field. Massive thanks to the chap who gave me permission.
3 buried stantons, at least 4 ablution blocks. crew(fire) training pool, offices, decontamination blocks. and still more to find in another wood not far away.
A few more pics from my stroll around Ingham. Found at least 3 of the open shelters, (well i think thats what they are?).
I really like the longshot photo of the whitish building.
Enjoy!

I like No 5 too; good composition and atmosphere.
Meeting at the Dambusters Pub in Scampton on the 27.04.2012 at 19.30 for the Raf Igham Heritage Group.
If anyone can attend then please do as we have some good news to give and if you feel like becoming a member then its only £5 per year.
The RIHG have got a 25yr lease on an old airmens mess building at the site to which we are going to refurbish it and open it up as a museum mainly for the Polish Sqns that flew from here as well as it being dedicated to all Polish Sqns.
We have gained planning permission for the building and have some funding as well as going for heritage lottery funding.
There will be memorials to all that flew from Raf Ingham.
We have an exhibition at Ingham village hall on May 12th - 13th and would welcome everyones support as well as getting new members for this.
The membership price per year is only £5.
The Royal Engineers are on site from today to build a new road for the museum and other jobs for us as they are using it as a training exercise and will be there for the next two weeks.
Please come and help support the project.
Regards,
HawkEye001
Here are some pictures of the work currently being carried out at the site.
Please note that the Royal Engineers are here doing this for us as a training exercise for their lads.
Anyway please enjoy!!!
