    I wanted to get back to England next spring and was just hoping something would still be there but sounds like the runways are just about gone.

    makes me feel sick to see Halesworth getting torn apart like that, at least the remaining buildings should be pretty safe as most are occupied by other businesses. i honestly dont see why airfields arnt 'listed'? being such an important part of British history, a place where so many men lost there lifes for us just getting ripped up like that, is not right.

    if im correct the B24 in the background of that video doesn't have the tail markings for 489th bg?

    sorry for the picture quality i only had my phone with me, but...

    got bored today so went for a little bike ride round the old Halesworth site, found this shelter, im under the impression its for the sick quarters? its near to Holton pit.







    took these pictures of my bike at the memorials too

    Love the bike XskotyX, is it a genuine wartime one? Looks ole enough but I have no knowledge of bikes. Can you provide a flashearth location link for the shelter?

    thanks, yeah its a 30s/40s bicycle iv got a couple of them, this one has 353rd FG painted on the white tip on the rear mudguard.
