I'm sorry Gents - RED CARD!

RAF organisations, be they stations, squadrons, units, Commands or whatever, do not have crests. They have BADGES. At the College of Arms there is an Inspector of RAF Badges.

I don't know why, but the misuse of the word crest in this context in endemic. Harumph!

Thanks PTE for the link, I was trying to find somewhere with decent quality jpegs of the Station Badges, they are just a bit too small. It is a good site though!

I'll try and locate the original site that I had bookmarked; it was comprehensive as I recall.

Re JCBs comment. It reminds me of that old Tex/West movie where the baddie Mex bandit sneers and says ' Badges! Badges! We dawn neet no steekin badges'
