Its hangar 2 getting the new windows ,HANGAR 3 Already been done,I'm almost sure hangar 2 is now used for the netsjets (bizzy jets) contract they have.
Nice to see the older buildings looking spiffing with new windows etc...

It looks possibly like a standby set house?

ILS CatIII now fully up and running this week.
I took this shot yesterday with a Thomson Airways B737-800 on final with the old RAF ATC Tower in full view.
Over the numbers of Runway 20
And finally touching down with one of the C type Hangars in the backround
Cheers
Is that the origional wartime tower just adapted with VCR in later years?
No that a 2548c/55 built to a 1955 design, like at Scampton

I think the war time tower was a fort type like this one http://www.controltowers.co.uk/B/bicester.htm and it was demolished when the airfield was upgraded for the V-force.

It seemed unlikely to me due to the more modern brick build. It just looked, in shape, similar to that of a typical wartime hangar.
I may have got it from looking at Leconfield and Strubby's as im sure both of them retain their wartime towers with modifications during the 50's.
To me it looks like the Vertical Split Type Control Tower (Drg No 2548c/55)
