Found this on my recent look around binbrook but wondered could anyone actually explain what its purpose was.
thanks
Could they be relays for some sort of electrical system? No idea at all.
There is no relays inside .Basically it has terminal blocks for phone cable.
Maybe its part of the tele-breifing system ?
Really puzzling me now ..
hi there
three phase power supply is doubtful cables would be of the same size left hand one looks like a comms flex or even a 13 amp cable.
binbrook what building is it on ?
could be traffic light control signals cable does not look like airfield lighting cable
so would suggest comms of some sort
cheers
It was just lent up a building as it looks like it was removed from somewhere else.
It has kinda gpo cable inside so i wonder if it was something to do with runway caravans ?
Definately has no mains supply running into it only small thin multi core cable like gpo cable.
Cant actually see any terminations out as all hard wired inside and no external points on it.
All it has on it in painted letters is well it looks like no7 .
Puzzled me .
It could be GPO cables,
Or, the general airfield cable used for carrying things such as obstruction lights switching signals and station PA.
It could be, not saying it IS. If it's been removed from a building, it may have been connected all through together, as usually the airfield cable used for direct wire traffic lighs and lighting telemetry AND general sation use would be in a nice large cabinet, unless of course removed and connected through.
