    Picture No. 5 is the Signal Square. I suppose you could parade on one but it would be very snug to say the least!

    South of the A14 & west of Ravenwood Hall Hotel we came across a couple of buried shelters in the woods. A fair way from the airfield but must have something to do with it. There was also a number of concrete paths semi buried throughout the woods.

    There is also one to the east of Blackthorpe Barn (to the south east of Ravenwood Hall). Definitely airfield related, it is the two piece arch concrete segment type (there's a name for them which I cannot recall!).

    Yep,thats the one--IMAG0102.jpgIMAG0101.jpg was s.e. got it wrong! Stanton is the name of the shelter. There was also another u/g type with an offset entrance adjacent to the Stanton.Was getting dark when I took the pics

    It's remarkable that signs are still there after how many years since removal? Maybe we should compile a list of runway removal dates for affected airfields?

    What is going on in the lower left of the photo? Looks like mounds of dirt in a crosshatch pattern and lots of tire tracks.
