I don't think the bowser is road worthy and is locked away in a compound adjacent to the Skegness Aerodrome .

The Dennis's are in daily use; there are 3 versions and all are spread around our dwindling number of stations. modern vehicles tend to be far more serviceable in regular use than sitting mothballed in a depot pending a call to action.
Thanks for sharing Ref yellow is once again the favoured airfild use vehicle colour all new vehicles for uk airfield use are ordered or should i say delivered in yellow.
Ted
Hi Ted, I didn't mean the Dennis is only used for deployments, but they do deploy this type on big excerices etc.
however I have never seen them used by the base MT section of the three airfields that I have worked, ie St Mawgan, Northolt, & St Athan, but certainly that's not to say that they arn't used on the major front-line combat stations.
The MANs are used as standard station wide airfield support refuelllers, it's the same type that appears in Ians' pics above.

Hi James yea understood you mate just wanted to amplify things for the lads; There were 55 of the Dennis jobs, 21 were winterised and 12 have aircon, re the 3 axle MAN - 124 is the quantity I believe the largest batch being the 2005 model.
If course the navy had to have a difference variant nothing changes there does it !!
regards TED
I have seen the Dennis vehicle in everyday use at Benson and Coningsby.
Regarding the MAN, the RAF and RN use the same vehicle.
Are things that bad now, do the RAF have it on Monday and the navy Tuesdays!!! Its a worry these cutsRAF and RN use the same vehicle![]()
