Found the answer as it is in fact Bishopbriggs.
Is this a Balloon Depot and if so what is its proper name? Its NE of Glasgow at NGR = NS629722. It is now a prison
Where is Canberra when you need him?

Did we not have a Bishopsbriggs thread?
The original RAF Bishopbriggs thread was lost in the recent changeover I fear so here we go again - all photos c.1982:

Do not even think that these are barrage balloon hangars, as they are not. They are sheds for the fabric workers to partly inflate their balloons to check for leaks. One shed per squadron. The balloon hangars are much larger and there is only one complete building extant in the UK and that is at Pawlet in Somerset. The last picture shows the bbs trailer and tractor shed, All buildings are demolished at Bishopbriggs.
Not a brilliant photo but shows the layout well enough. There is a bigger version on the thread labelled "Cadder".
This muppet here saved the original with JPG sizing at 50% so it got smaller before I realised

At this rate you should soon find a layout to match the plan shown on Page 67 of 'The Air Force Builds for War' (AP 3236 reprint).![]()
AP3236 is Stanmore I believe. Happy to be corrected though.
Difficult to see in your image PNK as its too small but the four barrage balloon hangars are on the right of the picture, away from the main buildings. They were long demolished before I got there in 1982.
We will believe you if you can put up an image of Stanmore too!
