The building in post 112 is now being used by the regional health unit so at least one building hasn't been demolished this week !

It's all completed, its now going to be used by the Regional Health Rehabilitation Unit, this was a quick pic from last week, will try and get a better one this week.

Ref post 98 the rest of the hangar support frames have been removed this week and are being scrapped.

Believe the green demolishing safety netting will be put up around a few more buildings in the next few weeks at Shawbury.
This week has seen an old sewage pressure house ? gone and an old shed on the old golf course area is also going.

Have heard the reason so many buildings are going is that the MOD have to pay council tax on empty buildings ? I thought it was payable only habitable buildings ie bedrooms, bathroom kitchen etc ?

If any one knows any different please feel free to let us all know as it seems a strange reason ?

Have also heard the pre war ? squash courts may be demolished as a new large mutli gym building has just been opened across the road from the camp on the site of the emergency car park and Z block site before that.

Its the engine off strips, the grass has been killed off and then re-seeded, similar task at Ternhill as well.

In the black and white picture its nice to see the old Z blocks were most of us old timers lived while on our TTF course's ! Believed they were condemned before I got there in Nov 85 !

Those Z Blocks were like heaven after Swinderby and a detachment at Leuchars staying in transit accommodation.

Single rooms, oh dear lord, we felt like we had gone to heaven! I can even remember which block and room.

Then back to reality at Lossiemouth with 8 man rooms!
