Spitfire I N3231 of No. 609Sqdn. Shot down and Crashed at Child Okeford. 07-10-40. Last weekend a group from South Wales dug up the propeller blades & hub assy. of the above Spitfire flying out of Warmwell. New RAF Talbenny, Pembrokeshire. An 'A' type bomber station on the coast of Pembrokeshire not far from RAF Dale.

New Winterborne Whitechurch Search Light Base, Dorsetshire. A search light and small 4 hutted camp was set up in a garden of a thatched house.

New Arne Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery, Dorsetshire. A standard for emplacement Vickers 3.7inch AA site still in reasonable condition and easy to access.

New Elstree Aerodrome, Hertfordshire. A small airfield now used by light aircraft & helicopters. In WW2 it converted Wellington's & after the war Halifax's. It has two non standard hangars & one MAP type R, a very rare type.

Neville Batterie, Blankenese Wn126, east of Cherbourg. An important battery of the Marine Artillerie Abteilung 260. Four casemates a fire control post and a seaward defence of tunnels & bunkers. I now have the inland side of the battery to cover next which will include their living accommodation, ammunition magazines, ablutions, etc.
