Yep. The last person on earth you'd expect to be stung by!!! He did enjoy cleaning about 20 drip trays later though.....

Ref the Q shed, am I right in thinking Binbrook's is the only one left in it's original site? I suppose the Battle Flight shed at Gutersloh must count in there too? What did Wildenrath have?

The Q Sheds like that were built at Binbrook, Wattisham and Leuchars mate. Leuchars is still there, although used to store GSE and ASMT junk, Binbrooks is still there and used as a farm store not, her runways are long gone.. Wattisham's was painstakingly (sp?) dismantled by the LPG and moved to Bruntingthorpe where it has been rebuilt over the last few years to house their pair of Lightnings.

Not at all sure what the RAFG units had, perhaps google earth will answer the question DB.

At Gutersloh the Q shed(it was called Battle Flight in Germany, Q was the nuclear alert) was on the south eastern side of the airfield and was IIRC of a different design to the UK.

Leuchars came down months ago and is now a building site: the new Typhoon ejector seat bay- it should be ready for the Army to use for keeping blanco or brasso !!!

So how does the Telegraph know this before the Defence secreatary has informed Parliament????? Sorry to sound cynical but given all thats gone on in the last fortnight with newspapers and hacking I find it annoying that a newspaper has this story (and it is a story) before the minister has informed parliament.

And I read the Telegraph yesterday and its odd that they didnt have Leuchars closing in it.
