Suprised that there isn't a thread on this historic airport, Britains first licenced aerodrome.

That will be the dome LAA trainer building at TQ 19852 05812 50.83943,-0.299184
That's what I thought NP but I am surprised that it survives! Good!
Here are a couple of photos I took from the 2005 RAFA Shoreham Airshow that show the Dome

Can anyone help me by posting some clear, ideally aerial, photos of Shoreham in the first half of the 1970s. From correspondence with a chum in the UK, I have realised just how unreliable has become my memory of the layout of the site on the south side, to the east of the terminal building, at that time. My thanks in anticipation!
Hi all
here a Hawker Tempest posing at Shoreham for the camera ww2

100 years of Shoreham sees it marked with the following events.
8-9 May - Shoreham Airport Book Fair
17-18 July - Centenary Fly-in sponsored by Transair (Invite only from what I understand, contact transair for more details)
31 July-1 August - Two DH Rapides for pleasure flying
7-8 August - Beagle Fly-in
21-22 August - RAFA Airshow
The Marlipins Museum in the High Street in Shoreham-by-Sea is apparently hosting a 100 year exhibition as well
Was just curious.. does anyone have any old photos or layouts of Shoreham during the war they would be willing to share? I have been searching on the net and haven't really come across much about the airport during this period. Cheers!
