This was the 'legendary' Mynydd Rhiw site. It was manned by detachments from Llanbedr and was considered in one of two ways:
1) A horrible detachment in the middle of nowhere.
2) A great little bolt hole, away from your boss at the main station.
I also believe it is currently mothballed but is still owned by QinetiQ.

There was also a remote "Control Transmitter" and a remote "Telemetry Receiver" limked to Llanbedr via a microwave link across the bay.
It was used to provide coverage for low level sorties. They were remotely switched by the technicians monitoring the telecommand and telemetry systems.
Mynydd Rhiw is mentioned in
Wings Across the Border: v. 3: A History of Aviation in North Wales and the Northern Marches
Microwave link trials were done between various sites around the Irish Sea in WWII. These seem to have been done from further up the hill at the other site. I suspect it might have been originally a RAF comms site before becoming Home Office / Police / Whatever. There are quite a number of concrete bases around the area as if there had been quite a few things there.
