The 158 squadron memorial is one of the most striking squadron memorials I have ever seen

    Front and back:-

Squadron emblem in the centre behind the figures:-

This block contains the visitors book:-

The wild flowere were chosen to be typical of 1945, and need mowing just once a year

They were financed as part of the installation of the wind turbines, and there are two large information boards in the layby

To allow you to read the information more easily I have made it into 6 panels, see next post

    Information boards in detail

The artist, Peter Naylor, gave a very good lecture about this memorial earlier this month at Elsham Golf Club

    His web site is http://www.peternaylor.co.uk/public/Welcome.html

If you are ever going anywhere near here, it is worth stopping to see it. You cant miss the large wind turbines on the old airfield.
