Cant help exactly but maybe one of these?

Can anyone give me a location of where this was please? I know it was adjacent to a railway line but as there is a few of those around Nottingham I have got a bit lost! I doubt very much if there is any trace of the heliport left now.

You mean this place?
SK553384 or thereabouts. Now all under Dunkirk Ind Est, Lenton. Closed around 1960 IIRC. I have more details but not to hand ATM.
Thats the place Ossington - many thanks for that, I had a feeling it had been developed over. Great photo as well.
FLASHEARTH LOCATION LINK
I run the website for Lenton Local History Society. We have some photos of the Heliport - http://www.lentontimes.co.uk/streets/lenton_lane.htm - but would love to use this in our Lenton Gallery. Is this your photo? If not do you know where it came from?
Hi Paul, welcome to AiX.
Ossington will no doubt confirm the origin of this image, but I'm fairly sure it was featured in an article in the Bygones supplement to the Nottingham Evening Post a few years ago. I think I have a copy somewhere (An aviation in Nottinghamshire special) which might reveal the answer, otherwise, only Andy Smart or David Lowe, the journalists who work on Bygones could tell you if it was taken by a Post photographer or submitted by a reader.
Hope this helps.
Many thanks TOB
